The Ministry of Defence (MoD), through the Department of Defence Production (DDP), has issued five Positive Indigenization Lists (PILs) as part of its efforts to achieve self-reliance in defence manufacturing. These lists are a cornerstone of India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) initiative, aimed at reducing dependency on imports and promoting indigenous production.
