Another boost for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ as Indian railways is calling for fresh bids for making semi-high speed train sets, focusing on Indian manufacturing companies. Applauding the move, Mr. Tribhuvan Darbari – MD & CEO, Texmaco (Adventz Group) congratulated the Ministry of Railways through his social media. Mr. Tribhuvan Darbari said the initiative is visionary and will give an impetus to the Prime Minister’s clarion call of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.

Mr. T S Darbari further said, “The initiative shows that the government wants to promote the ambitious Make in India project, focusing on domestic manufacturers.”
The Railway Ministry said in a statement that it has invited revised tenders for semi high speed 44 Vande Bharat trains, for which a pre-bid meeting will be held on September 29. The Ministry of Railways said that the tender will open on November 17, 2020. According to Railway Ministry officials, train sets will be manufactured at ICF / Chennai, RCF / Kapurthala and MCF / Rae Bareli. It will be local (indigenous) tender and in two phases. According to the new tender, only those companies will participate in it.
According to the news, the Ministry of Railways has also mentioned that the tender is divided into three phases that has propulsion, control and other equipment. It is the first major tender under the revised DPIIT norms of self-sufficient India. In this, the ratio of local content will be a minimum of 75 percent.
A total of 44 trains under this initiative will be made indigenously. in which each train will have 16 coaches. Mr. TS Darbari says that India has demonstrated how it rises up to challenges and uncovers opportunities. India’s leadership is recognized at a global level.
