12/13/2024The Ministry of Defence (MoD), through the Department of Defence Production (DDP), has issued five Positive Indigenization Lists (PILs) as part of its efforts to achieve self-reliance in defence manufacturing. These lists are a cornerstone of India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) initiative, aimed at reducing dependency on imports and promoting indigenous production.

The CEO’s interaction during the India-Russia Business Forum Mumbai, on 11th November 2024, gave me an opportunity to closely interact with H.E Mr. Denis Manturov, Hon’ble First Deputy Prime Minister & the Hon’ble External Affairs Minister of India, H.E Dr S. Jaishankar, in the presence of H.E Mr. Sergey Cheremin, Hon’ble Minister of Moscow, President Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) & Managing Director, Mahindra Group Mr. Anish Shah & the Vice President FICCI & Vice Chairman, RPG Group, Mr. Anant Goenka.
Based on my observations & experiences during my participation as a Speaker in the SPIEF’24 in St. Petersburg in June 2024, BRICS’24 in Moscow in August 2024, Eastern Economic Forum in #vladivostok in September 2024 & 4th Eurasian Women’s Forum in St. Petersburg in September 2024, I reiterated on the immense potential in cooperation between India & Russia for the promotion of culture & #tourism in the #russian FarEast & Arctic Regions, especially for Indian film & #bollywood industry; immense scope of sending skilled & professional manpower for various verticals in different locations in Russia, in view of the existing gap because of the geopolitical reasons and closer cooperation in the applications of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (#AI), etc, for manufacturing projects, especially for projects under #makeinindia Initiatives. My interactions were highly appreciated by the Leadership from the Russian & the Indian sides.
